BRANDON FRIEDEL NAMED TECH MALE
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Arkansas Tech has
named junior guard Brandon Friedel (Victoria,
Texas)
as this week's Male Student-Athlete of the Week.
Friedel, who is a member of the Wonder Boys
Basketball team, earns this week's honor after being the
leader scorer for the Wonder Boys last week. For the

16th-ranked North Alabama. In this past Monday's 75-53
win over Northeastern State, Friedel scored a
season-high 25 points and had six rebounds to lead the
Wonder Boys to a season sweep over the RiverHawks.
Against NSU, Friedel shot 8-for-10 from the field and
was 6-for-8 from the 3-point line in the victory. On the
season, Friedel is the team's second leader scorer at
11.0 points per game and he is shooting 52 percent from
the field and 53 percent from long distance.
In his two-plus years as a Wonder Boy, Friedel, who was
a member for the GSC All-Academic Men's Basketball Team
last season, has played in 63 games and made 43 starts.
He has scored 437 points (6.9 ppg) and is a career 39
percent shooter from the field and a 39 percent
(87-for-226) shooter from the 3-point line. In addition,
he has pulled down 118 rebounds (2.9 rpg) and has
collected 46 steals and dished out 40 career assists.
Friedel and his teammates return home to Russellville to
begin a two-game homestand on Thursday, Dec. 4, when
they host Hillsdale Free Will Baptist at 7:30 p.m. and
then conclude the homestand on Monday, Dec. 8, against
