RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Arkansas Tech has named Golden Suns junior pitcher Casey Hammons (Carthage, Texas) as this week's 16th Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the 2008-09 school year.

Hammons has made 24 appearances and 16 starts and has thrown 10 complete games, including four shutouts and had picked up three saves. Earlier this season against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Feb. 23), Hammons tossed the third perfect game in school history in Tech's 10-0 win over the Golden Lions. In 127 innings of work, Hammons has allowed 91 hits, 32 runs (17 earned runs), while walking 38 and striking out 129.
