WONDER BOYS BASKETBALL TO HOST ITS THIRD-ANNUAL
GOLF TOURNAMENT IN EARLY OCTOBER

        RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Arkansas Tech Men’s Basketball Coach Mark Downey has announced the date for its third-annual fundraising golf tournament to benefit the men’s basketball program.

The event will take place on Oct. 3, 2008, at Russellville Country Club. The tournament will be played as a four-man scramble format and the entry fee will be $400 per team.

“This is a great opportunity for the River Valley community to get involved with the Tech men’s basketball program,” Downey said. “We have moved the tournament to the beautiful Russellville Country Club this year and our staff and players will be present for a great day of golf.”

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., which will be preceded by lunch at 11:30 a.m. Prizes and giveaways will be awarded and the tournament will also have individual hole contests.

“The revenue generated from the tournament will help our program meet our lofty goals in terms of recruiting, travel, in the classroom, and on the court,” Downey added. “If you cannot join us on Oct. 3, come out to Tucker Coliseum this winter. We need your help and anything you can do is greatly appreciated.”
