Playing Experience:
Bayer lettered and started for four seasons as a setter at Grand Valley State University from 1997-00.  As a player, she was a two-time All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and two-time All-Great Lakes Region selection.  In addition, as as senior, she was Second-Team NCAA All-American, a Third-Team Asics All-American the same year and a Daktronics All-Region pick.  She holds the GVSU career assists record (5,441) and single-match assist mark (74) and is second on the GLIC's career-assist record holder (5,441) and stands 28th on the NCAA Division II all-time assists chart. In addition, she was inducted into the Grand Valley State Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2007.

Coaching Experience:
Bayer was an assistant volleyball coach at her alma mater, Grand Valley State University (Mich.), in 2002 and 2003. With her on the staff, Grand Valley State posted back-to-back 30-win seasons, advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four both seasons and finished in the top five of the final American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division II top 25 poll both seasons. Prior to her stint at Grand Valley State, Bayer spent one year as an assistant coach at Emporia State (Kan.). She also has five years of experience coaching the Far Out club team in Michigan,  four years as a head coach and one as an assistant. The Far Our club team was one of the top club programs in the state of Michigan, as the 17's team qualified for the Junior Olympic Nationals in 2003 and the 15's team won the Michigan AAU State Tournament in 2004. In addition, she served as  an assistant coach of the 2004 USA Youth National Performance Team Delta Region.  

At Tech:
Bayer, who is entering her sixth season at Tech, guided the Golden Suns to the Gulf South Conference Tournament during her inaugural campaign with the Golden Suns in 2004 and then in 2005, she led Tech to a 25-12 record and a 9-5 mark in the GSC West Division and a second straight berth in the GSC Tournament. In her third season in 2006, she led Tech to a 20-16 overall record and in 2007, she helped guide Tech to a 22-13 overall record and a berth in the GSC Tournament. Last season, Bayer led Tech to a 31-5 overall record and its fourth GSC West Division title since joining the league in 1996. In her five years at Tech, Bayer, who was named the 2008 GSC West Division Coach of the Year, has compiled a 111-63 overall record and is the third all-time winningest volleyball coach at Tech in terms of wins.

Personal:
Bayer, who is a native of Jackson, Michigan, is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and the NACWA and is married to former Wonder Boys football player B.J. Bayer. The couple reside in Russellville and are the proud parents of a a son, Brooks, who was born April 28, 2009.

Bio:
Brett Sikora spent two season as an assistant at Grand Valley State University helping lead the Lakers to combined 66-8 record in 2007 and 2008. During the tenure at GVSU, the team went 33-4 in both years, earning trips to the Elite Eight in 2007 and the Final Four in  2008, falling to the eventual    Division II national champions.

The Lakers were 32-5 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference during Sikora's two years at the school, winning both the regular season and conference tournament titles each year. Grand Valley State also hosted and won a pair of regional tournament championships in 2007 and 2008. In 2008, GVSU tied a school-record with a 22-match winning streak and the Lakers currently own a 36-match home winning streak. While Sikora was at Grand Valley State, the Lakers went 31-0 at home.

GVSU totaled 10 All-GLIAC selections while Sikora was on staff, including the 2008 Player of the Year, the 2007 Freshman of the Year, and the 2007 Libero of the Year. The Lakers also had four AVCA All-American in 2007 and 2008, in addition to sic All-Midwest Region honorees.

At Grand Valley State, Sikora worked heavily with the team's middle blockers and outside hitters. He handled recruiting and student-athlete evaluations, game day management, video exchange, scouting opponents, strength and conditioning, and other on and off-court instruction. Sikora was in charge in charge of travel administration, which included hotel reservations, booking flights, and other travel arrangements. He also ran the team's study table requirements and met with the program's athletic advisors.

Sikora has worked instructional volleyball camps at Michigan State, Western Michigan, where he worked with members of the coaching staff from Ole Miss and Kansas, as well as many of the other top club coaches from the area. While at these instructional camps, he was in charge of creating drills, teaching skills, and motivating the campers. He coached a 16-year old national team while at Michigan Volleyball Academy in Grand Rapids, Mich. While at MVA, he was also in charge of training outside hitters in the entire program. Sikora also was the head coach of Club HC for three years, as he led three different teams of 13-17 year-olds and was in charge of developing, organizing, and conducting and evaluating practice.

Brett graduated from Western Michigan with a Bachelor's of Science in Education. He earned a major in elementary group minors and a minor in mathematics/science and physical education. While at WMU, Sikora played outside hitter for 4 years, and was captain of the men's club volleyball team.
