Tech’s region includes teams from the GSC, the SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and the SAC (South Atlantic Conference).

One of Tech’s losses is to a team ranked in this week’s Super Regional Two poll as North Alabama (9-0 overall, 9-0 D-II) is once again ranked No. 1.

North Alabama sits atop the Super Regional Two poll for the fifth consecutive week. Carson-Newman (8-2 overall, 7-2 D-II) out of the SAC remains second this week, while Albany State (8-1 overall, 8-1 D-II) out of the SIAC remains third and UNC-Pembroke (8-1 overall, 6-1 D-II), an NCAA Division II independent, remains in the fourth spot after its 52-7 win Saturday at Frostburg [MD] State. Mars Hill (6-3 overall, 6-2 D-II) remains fifth despite its 38-28 loss to Tusculum last weekend.

Following Tech in this week’s poll is Morehouse (6-3, 6-3 D-II), out of the SIAC, is at No. 7 and Benedict (7-3 overall, 6-3 D-II), out of the SIAC, falls to eighth after falling last weekend 30-12 to Albany State. Wingate (6-3 overall, 6-3 D-II), out of the SAC, remains ninth and Fort Valley State (6-4 overall, 5-3 D-II), out of the SIAC, remains 10th following its 20-13 win over Kentucky State this past weekend.

Tech returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 7, when the Wonder Boys close out the 2009 regular season with a GSC contest at Harding (5-5 overall, 3-4 GSC). Kickoff for Saturday’s regular season finale is set for 2 p.m. at First Security Stadium in Searcy, Ark.
