WONDER BOYS FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES CHANGE TO SATURDAY'S
GREEN AND GOLD SPRING SCRIMMAGE
RUSSELLVILLE,
Arkansas –
Arkansas Tech Head Football Coach and Athletic Director
Steve Mullins has announced a change of venue for
his team’s Green and Gold Spring Scrimmage that is
scheduled for this Saturday.
The scrimmage, which was originally scheduled to be
played on the practice field adjacent to Thone Stadium
at Buerkle Field, has now been moved to Thone Stadium at
Buerkle Field. Kickoff for the Green and Gold Scrimmage
will still be at 3 p.m., as the scrimmage is part of
Tech’s Centennial Birthday Bash celebration on campus
this weekend.
With the change from the practice field to the game
field, Tech will now play four 10-minute quarters and
the game will feature Gulf South Conference officials
and the game clock and 25/40-second clock will be
utilized.
“The construction project on our field has been pushed
back one week, so we decided to move the Green and Gold
Spring Scrimmage from the practice field to Thone
Stadium at Buerkle Field,” Mullins said Tuesday.
The construction in Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field,
which will now begin on Monday, April 20, will improve
the drainage, along with redoing the grass playing
surface and adding landscaping around the stadium.
Saturday’s Green and Gold Game will be the second to
last scrimmage of the spring for the Wonder Boys, as
they will conclude its run of 15 spring practices with
its annual Senior Bowl on Tuesday, April 21, on the
practice field adjacent to Thone Stadium at Buerkle
Field.
