RAIN FORCES CHANGES TO TECH'S SOFTBALL AND TENNIS
SCHEDULES
RUSSELLVILLE,
Arkansas –
A forecast that calls for a 70 percent chance of rain on
Thursday has forced Arkansas Tech officials to make
adjustments to its softball and tennis schedules.
The Golden Suns Softball team has announced that its
home doubleheader on Thursday against Northeastern State
at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex has been
cancelled and will not be made up this season. The teams
will originally scheduled to play a doubleheader
beginning at 2 p.m.
"The rain that hit the Russellville area earlier this
morning and a forecast that calls to continuous rain
throughout the day has forced us to cancel our
doubleheader with Northeastern State," Golden Suns
Softball Coach Gidget Pambianchi said.
The Golden Suns, who are sporting a 29-19 overall record
and a 12-8 mark in the GSC, will now return to action on
Tuesday, April 14, when they welcome Rogers State for a
doubleheader at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex
beginning at 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Golden Suns Tennis team has its Gulf
South Conference match on Thursday at Harding cancelled
due to the weather. The Harding match has been
rescheduled for Friday, April 10 at 2 p.m. in Searcy,
Ark.
The Tech tennis team, which is sporting a 14-4 overall
record and a 2-2 mark in the GSC, will return to action
on Tuesday, April 14, when they host Southern Arkansas
in a 1 p.m. GSC match at the Chartwells Women's Sports
Complex.
