RAIN FORCES CHANGES TO TECH'S SOFTBALL AND TENNIS SCHEDULES

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – A forecast that calls for a 70 percent chance of rain on Thursday has forced Arkansas Tech officials to make adjustments to its softball and tennis schedules.

The Golden Suns Softball team has announced that its home doubleheader on Thursday against Northeastern State at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex has been cancelled and will not be made up this season. The teams will originally scheduled to play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.

"The rain that hit the Russellville area earlier this morning and a forecast that calls to continuous rain throughout the day has forced us to cancel our doubleheader with Northeastern State," Golden Suns Softball Coach Gidget Pambianchi said.

The Golden Suns, who are sporting a 29-19 overall record and a 12-8 mark in the GSC, will now return to action on Tuesday, April 14, when they welcome Rogers State for a doubleheader at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex beginning at 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Golden Suns Tennis team has its Gulf South Conference match on Thursday at Harding cancelled due to the weather. The Harding match has been rescheduled for Friday, April 10 at 2 p.m. in Searcy, Ark.

The Tech tennis team, which is sporting a 14-4 overall record and a 2-2 mark in the GSC, will return to action on Tuesday, April 14, when they host Southern Arkansas in a 1 p.m. GSC match at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex.
