GOLDEN SUNS CONDUCTING TWO SUMMER SOFTBALL CAMPS

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Arkansas Tech University recently announced that it would be conducting two softball summer camps, according to Golden Suns Head Coach Gidget Pambianchi.

The two camps this coming summer, which will be run by Pambianchi and her coaching staff, are a hitting and skills camp and a pitching/catching camp.

Tech’s first softball camp is a two-day hitting and skills camp that will run from June 2-3. The camp is open to anyone between the ages of 6-18 and will run from 1-5 p.m. on both days. The cost of the camp is $65 and will be held at the softball field at the new Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex on the Tech campus. The camp will focus on hitting techniques and either improving or teaching basic softball skills.

The second camp is a camp devoted entirely to pitching and catching. The pitching and catching camp is scheduled for June 9-10 at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex. The cost is $50 and is open to anyone between the ages of 6-18 and will run from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on both days. This camp will focus on pitching and catching skills and techniques.

Participants at either camp are asked to bring a glove, a bat, batting gloves and either tennis shoes or cleats. In addition, campers interested in attending both camps can do so for $90.

For more information on any of these two softball camps, please contact Coach Pambianchi at the Tech Softball Office at (479) 264-2001 or you can e-mail her at gpambianchi@atu.edu.
