TECH TENNIS TO HOST FUNDRAISING TOURNAMENT NEXT WEEKEND

        RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Arkansas Tech Tennis Coach Abby Davis has announced that her tennis team will host a fundraising tennis tournament on Sept. 12-13 at Tech’s Chartwell’s Tennis Complex.

The tournament, which costs $20 for one event or $25 for two events, will start at 8 a.m. and will run all day on Sept. 12 and start at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. Tech students, faculty and staff can enter the tournament for $10 per event. All the proceeds will benefit Tech’s tennis program

Davis said that the tournament will feature a mixed doubles, men’s and women’s doubles and men’s and women’s singles events. The tournament will have an A Division for players with a USTA rating of 3.5 and above and a B Division for players ranked 3.5 and below. In addition, you do not have to member of the USTA to play in the tournament.

          “This is a great way for our tennis program to be involved with the community,” Davis said. “We encourage everyone who likes to play some tennis to come out and participate in our fundraising tournament.”
